Sambit is also a regular at all the biggest festivals in INDIA, a prominent name in the Indian music
circuit. at the NH7 Weekender Festival Sambit was invited by SWITCHFOOT the American Alternative band to share stage and play a song with them and he was the only drummer to represent INDIA at the Commonwealth Games Gold Coast 2018 & he performed with Susheela Raman and Sam Mills. These are some of his achievements as professional musician but he aims at learning and gaining more knowledge of music playing and working hard to be known as one of the best drummers in the world, someday.
who is sambit?
Sambit has been playing drums for the past 15 years, having taken tabla classes from his father (Grammy Nominated Tabla Maestro) Pandit Subhen Chatterjee , Sambit has now branched out, trying to find his own sound. He considers Ranjit Barot of be one of his mentors now and idolises drummers like Mike Portnoy, Benny Greb, Jojo Mayer, Mark Guliana, Tony Williams, Buddy Rich, Omar Hakim and so many more. He has been endorsing some of the leading music brands of the world now like Zildjian Cymbals , EVANSDrum Heads, VicFirth drum sticks, SHURE IEMS, CRS Cymbal Resonant System and has recently been addressed as the Brand Ambassador of Gappu Percussion. Sambit has been playing and touring the world for awhile now. He is playing with some of the leading bands in the circuit like What Escapes Me, aswekeepsearching , Karma - BandishFusion, & with some virtuosos artists like DIVINE(indian rap sensation) , Mohini Dey, Niladri Kumar, Rhythm Shaw & Tajdar Junaid. Sambit's band has toured with artists like Parkway Drive, PLINI, Polyphia and in the first ONE PLUS MUSIC FESTIVAL his band played alongside Katy Perry, Dua Lipa. He has also played with eminent senior classical musicians like grammy winning Pandit Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, Ustaad Taufiq Qureshi & many more. He has been invited by the genius Ustad. Zakir Hussain to play solo and indian compositions at his father, Ustad. Allah Rakhha Khan's 100th year birthday celebration concert and the very next day he performed with highly acclaimed vocalist Isheeta Chakraborty at the Mumbai International Jazz Day under Herbie Hancock curated by the Indian Jazz Legend Loiuz Banks held at National Centre for the Performing Arts.
