Biography
Gappu is perhaps the most unique percussion brand from India. What pulled me more towards gappu is the standard of making as the products are of top notch in international standard .They make pretty unique instruments as well and they very well satisfy every percussionist and musician as far as the sounding is concerned. I have great faith in the team and pretty sure that we’ll spread our sound around the world
Abhinandh V Nair aka the Cajonaholic is an excentric multi-percussionist basically from Kerala.Cajonaholic is an actual pioneer to many youngsters in South of India especially Kerala in exploring and resounding the beauty and joy of cajon and other latin percussive culture.
He started his journey of percussion when he was 12.It was then he made his debut in a Keralian drum festival.He has been part of many renowned Keralian drum festivals such as the famous Thrissur Pooram.He had already performed alongside the legendary Keralian drum maestros such as Padmasree Peruvanam KuttanMarar, Padmasree Mattannoor ShankarankuttyMarar,Kelath Aravindhakshan Marae etc.. before he turned 15.He was an active member of Keralain drum circles when he was 18 and was considered as one of the finest upcoming Keralian drum artist by the time. It was at that time that he wanted to explore more about percussion and various percussion cultures and traditions all around the world and he was very well into hand percussion as well. On his drum tour in Goa he came across this latin club over there where he learned the basics of latin percussion; cajon especially.He was then part of the percussion club for a while and from there he pursed his advanced learning in cajon percussion under Michael Miranda the famous Brazilian Percussionist and his disciples. After learning many within the Latin percussion culture, he produced many percussion ensembles and Carnatic-latin fusion ensembles in Kerala; one with Dr.PN Prabhavathy Padmaraj (Professor,Chinmaya ViswaVidyapeeth,Piravam) a disciple of the famous Carnatic Maestro Sri T.M Krishna is an example for that. He has performed with renowned artists such as the Mysore Brothers(Violin maestros), Rajesh Cherthala (flute maestro) , Kuzhalmandam Ramakrishnan (Mrudangam maestro) and the list goes on.

– multiple times in the Chembai Sangeetholsav;Perhaps the most famous Music Festival in South India.
-The Monte Music Festival in Goa which is a unique blend of classical and western music.

-The Sunburn Festival
The Cajonaholic has worked with many of the leading music directors in South Indian Film industry.He is also a regular and famous presence in the Kerala School Kalolsavams for many years as he has trained hundreds of school students in percussion and orchestral events by this time.His students are the state winners in orchestra 4 times in last 5 years.
Had received an award from the Honourable Minister of Kerala Sri V S SunilKumar for his achievements in training for the State School Festival Events in the Centenary function held at SHCGHSS Thrissur, Kerala in 2019.
